Ladbrokes reported that a Welsh punter had overcome odds of 350,000 to 1, to win £700,000 with a stake of Just £2. A spokesperson for Ladbrokes called the win extraordinary adding that it was the most "phenomenal betting performance we've seen in many years."

Archie Evans from Cwmbran, who picked six horse race winners to get the payout, said "It's a huge amount of money and if I'm honest it's not sunk in yet."

"I've not decided on how to spend it yet," he continued. "But I know I'm going to take my wife on a bloody good holiday."
